Democrats’ 9/11 Style Commission for Jan. 6 FAILS IN SENATE with Six Republican Traitors Voting in Favor of the Bill

The Democrats’ 9/11 style commission to use police state powers to investigate Trump supporters and other Republicans has been killed in the U.S. Senate, with six Republicans defecting to support the measure.

Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Susan Collins (R-ME), Ben Sasse (R-NE), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Rob Portman (R-OH) joined the Senate Democrats and voted in favor of the measure. Even though the measure received 54 votes, it needed 60 to clear the filibuster. 35 senators voted to kill the legislation.

Big League Politics reported on Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) opposing the measure despite his well-publicized hatred of former president Donald Trump:

“Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has come out against the proposed Jan. 6 commission that would give Democrats police state powers to investigate Trump supporters and other Republicans as domestic terrorists.

McConnell is coming out against the measure after 35 Republicans betrayed their party, their nation and their sacred honor to sign onto the measure in the U.S. House. Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) has indicated that he intends to support the commission.

“I do not believe the additional extraneous commission that Democratic leaders want would uncover crucial new facts or promote healing,” McConnell said on the Senate floor Thursday. “Frankly, I do not believe it is even designed to do that.”

Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC), another Trump opponent in the GOP, has also said he will not be voting to approve the commission.

“I will continue to support the real serious work of the criminal justice system and our own Senate committees and urge my colleagues to oppose this extraneous layer when the time comes for the Senate to vote,” McConnell also said on the floor.”

House Democrats are expected to commence with a partisan witch hunt anyway to attack Trump supporters using Jan. 6 as the excuse to bring the war on terror into the homeland to target patriotic Americans – something that they have pined to do for many years.
