30 Conservatarian Maxims in the Style of Baltasar Gracian

Baltasar Gracián was a Spanish Jesuit and writer born in 1601 and died in 1658. He is best known for his work “The Art of Worldly Wisdom” (El arte de la prudencia), which was published in 1647.

“The Art of Worldly Wisdom” is a collection of aphorisms and practical advice aimed at guiding individuals in navigating the complexities of social and professional life. Gracián emphasizes the importance of prudence, tact, and self-awareness in dealing with others and achieving personal success. The book offers insights on various topics such as leadership, decision-making, communication, and the cultivation of good judgment.

Gracián’s writing style is characterized by his concise and insightful observations, often presented in a poetic and metaphorical manner. He advocates for adaptability, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate social situations with skill and discernment.

Through the power of artificial intelligence, we are now able to capture his style of writing with non-woke maxims on many different 21st century topics. Non-wokeness — of course — being the preferred style of his time.

Dealing With Cultural Marxism In Society

  1. “Amidst the currents of a cultural Marxist society, guard your intellectual independence and preserve the sanctity of your thoughts, for true wisdom flourishes in the fertile soil of diverse perspectives.”
  2. “In the face of ideological conformity, cultivate the art of critical thinking, questioning prevailing narratives with prudence, as a discerning mind is the antidote to intellectual homogeneity.”
  3. “Do not let the shackles of groupthink restrain your individuality, for the strength of an anti-cultural Marxist society lies in the diversity of dissenting voices that challenge the status quo.”
  4. “Navigate the tempestuous seas of political correctness with tact and subtlety, for true enlightenment comes from engaging in respectful dialogue, encouraging genuine understanding, and fostering empathy.”
  5. “Amidst the waves of cultural Marxism, guard the sacred flame of free expression, for it is through the crucible of open discourse that the truth emerges, and societal progress thrives.”

Embracing Austrian Economics

  1. “In the realm of economic theory, embrace the tenets of Austrian economics, for it unveils the intricacies of individual actions and market forces, laying the foundation for a prosperous society.”
  2. “Embody the spirit of entrepreneurial discovery, as espoused by Austrian economics, for it is through the pursuit of innovation and risk-taking that progress and economic growth find fertile ground.”
  3. “Cultivate a deep appreciation for the spontaneous order of the market, recognizing that the invisible hand, guided by the price mechanism, holds the power to allocate resources efficiently and harmoniously.”
  4. “In the realm of policymaking, prioritize the principles of limited government intervention and individual liberty, as advocated by Austrian economics, for it is through free markets and voluntary exchanges that true prosperity and human flourishing are fostered.”
  5. “Harness the power of sound money and fiscal responsibility, for the principles of Austrian economics emphasize the importance of stable currencies and prudent fiscal policies to guard against the perils of inflation and unsustainable debt burdens.”

Safeguarding The Second Amendment

  1. “In the realm of constitutional rights, cherish the Second Amendment as a guardian of individual liberties, for an armed citizenry stands as a bulwark against encroachments upon freedom.”
  2. “Nurture a deep understanding of the historical context that birthed the Second Amendment, recognizing its intent to empower citizens to protect themselves, their loved ones, and the principles of a just society.”
  3. “Stand steadfast in your defense of the right to bear arms, for the Second Amendment acts as a deterrent against potential threats to personal safety, as well as a safeguard against potential abuses of power.”
  4. “Embrace responsible firearm ownership, coupling the right to bear arms with a commitment to education, training, and a respect for the safety and well-being of oneself and others.”
  5. “Vigilantly oppose any attempts to infringe upon the Second Amendment, for a society that weakens the rights of its citizens to bear arms risks eroding the foundation upon which individual freedoms and a thriving republic rest.”

Avoiding A Cashless Society

  1. “In the realm of financial transactions, safeguard the option of cash, for it represents the tangible expression of economic freedom and personal privacy.”
  2. “Recognize the value of cash as a universal medium of exchange, transcending the limitations of technology and ensuring the accessibility of economic participation for all.”
  3. “Amidst the allure of convenience, maintain the practice of using cash, for it serves as a check against the potential risks and vulnerabilities associated with a fully digital monetary system.”
  4. “Embrace the principle of diversification in financial matters, preserving the role of cash alongside digital forms of payment, as a prudent measure to mitigate potential disruptions and technological failures.”
  5. “Protect the autonomy and sovereignty of individuals by advocating for the availability and acceptance of cash, guarding against the concentration of power that may arise in a fully cashless society.”

Lionizing Two-Parent Households

  1. “In the tapestry of familial harmony, exalt the virtues of the two-parent household, for it provides a sturdy foundation upon which children can thrive and society can flourish.”
  2. “Recognize the unique strengths brought forth by both parents, as they complement and support one another, creating an environment of balance, guidance, and emotional stability.”
  3. “Cherish the profound bond between parents, fostering a partnership built on mutual respect, effective communication, and shared responsibility, for it nurtures a sense of security and belonging within the family unit.”
  4. “Embrace the powerful role modeling of a two-parent household, as it provides children with a rich tapestry of diverse perspectives, values, and life lessons, cultivating their holistic development.”
  5. “Guard the sanctity of the two-parent household, fostering policies and societal support that empower parents in their roles, recognizing that their influence extends beyond the confines of the home, shaping the fabric of future generations.”

Fight Wars In Defense Only

  1. “In matters of war, prioritize the sacred duty of defending one’s nation directly, for the preservation of lives and resources must be weighed against the perils of unnecessary conflicts.”
  2. “Navigate the treacherous path of international affairs with prudence, discerning the true threats to national security from the allure of expansionism, ensuring that conflicts are waged solely for the safeguarding of the homeland.”
  3. “Embrace the wisdom of a defensive stance, fortifying the nation’s borders and diplomacy, for true strength lies not in conquest but in protecting the welfare of one’s citizens and preserving the peace.”
  4. “Exercise restraint and foresight, carefully evaluating the costs and consequences of engaging in foreign conflicts, as wars fought only for direct national defense honor the sacred value of human life.”
  5. “Uphold the principles of just war, reserving armed confrontation as a last resort, with the aim of defending the nation’s sovereignty and the rights of its people, for victory in such wars carries the noblest purpose.”
